My last final was Wednesday and this semester is FINALLY over, longest semester of my life. I feel like I can truly enjoy every day now. I got my first C ever this semester and I cried. (silly baby) It was so frustrating.. I had a 98 in the class until I misread the syllabus and didn't take a Quiz and Test that were due dropping my grade to a 72. frus.tra.ting.

Oh well. I'm sure there are worst things in life.. I just couldn't think of one at that moment.
Anyways.. Yay, no school for a month! I'm going to stay up late watching Christmas movies, bake cookies and make peppermint bark!, enjoy all of the family time I can get - Tyler gets home Tuesday and I CAN NOT WAIT!!! I have 9 days off starting Wednesday!!
We get to spend a few sweet days with Adam's family right after Christmas and celebrate. - thrilled. Can't wait to hug everyone.
Today it snowed for the first time here! I bundled up and danced around in it for a second.. it's really just flurries and nothing accumulated, but I'll take it!
Everything is just so cheery and happy.
Oh, and soon I will upload our Christmas card pictures. ;]
They were so fun to make and send out.

Lately, I've really just been enjoying December. This is my favorite time of the year and I'm trying to make the most of it and soak in every moment. Each evening we have a fire going, (even in the 80 degree weather last week!) a Christmas movie or tv show playing, the puppies inside - curled up by our feet, and coffee brewing. We love just sitting inside soaking in all of the Christmasy-ness and each other's company. Last night we put on our comfiest sweats, cozy hats, grabbed some coffee, and headed out to look at Christmas lights. We listened to a Christmas Pandora station and sang along the whole time. It's one of my favorite traditions and never gets old. The place we look at lights is a pretty ritzy neighborhood inside a canyon, along a lake, so everyone goes all out and it's truly beautiful. Once you pass the bend in the road and start the descent into the canyon you see ALL of the lights, and it's the neatest most magical feeling ever! I'm so happy my husband loves Christmas just as much, if not more than me. It makes every little thing so fun. You know the verse about sharing each other's joy? He's the best at that. (and sorrow, too) When I'm happy, he is so happy with me! Christmas just brings about so much joy, multiplied!

::::::::: <3 :::::::::

God has also been working on my heart big time. I feel like God is calling me to go to war against the sin in my life. I know it's not pleasing to him and it hurts my heart that I give sin any sort of place in my life.
Actually I was studying for my history final and I read a sentence that just stuck with me, "War is the midwife of reconstruction." I thought about it all day, and then in my quiet time it resurfaced. Everything I studied was about battle, and the song playing in my head and heart was a strong battle cry. I know that God wants to mend things together in my life, repair some broken things, and I feel a new season coming on - but war must happen first. Sorta scary.. but I know it will be worth it. The war will push along, create a perfect environment for, and nurture a complete change in my life. God is so good.
My prayer life has been much more active than usual, which I love, and I feel a constant tug on my heart to fight apathy, discontent, evil desires, and every sin that I'm faced with each day.
Praying God's kingdom falls down. I want to experience Him in a different way. The spiritual warfare in my life is hard, but beautiful. I know that the evil in my life and the goodness of God should not and can not coexist.
I've loved coming to God as a leader in Battle. I love that He fights my battles with me. I'm not alone in the fight; I'm far too weak for that. I have a picture of Him with black battle marks under his eyes, a fierceness about His face, and a bow strapped around Him. I've never before pictured my God like this, except while reading revelation, which is amazing, but not personally in my life. He listens to me pour out my heart, my desires, but then my prayers change from asking ..to something else. I command things to flee. I let them know they are not welcome in my life, house, and relationships. My God, ready for battle, is on my side. Whom shall I fear?
:]
God is beautiful.
December is beautiful.
Life is so very beautiful.

  15. That was so powerful. I love love love when God uses others to speak into my life. I think it says so much about how he truly is all knowing. It has been vividly brought to my attention in the last few months that it is beautiful to struggle, for the struggles bring you to such a wonderful place that you didn't even know could exist in your life. I love reading your blog because you are so honest about what is on your heart and the struggles that you go through. THANK YOU for that!

    Loves,
    Shelby

  37. LOVE this post!
    God is SO good.
the all powerful King of mighty Kings.
his mercy is sweet and his love is strong.
i can't express to you how much i related to what you said.
there are so many distractions in our short lifetimes that draw us away from Jesus.
its so easy to do, but i do feel that tug to talk with him more.. to spend more time with him.. to read about other people who love him so much.
its a good place to be.

ps.. i saw this and thought of you and your sweet blog.

  38. Amber,
I love reading your blog. You always have such beautiful things to say. Blogging reall yhas brought me into a whole new world. it's neat to think that there are so many inspiring, sweet, kind women out there. I feel lucky to have "met" you through all of this, and I will keep you in my prayers. I need to work on my relationship with God, and I really need to focus my thoughts back to him. It's been so easy for me to become distracted...

  40. Kacie - God is so so good and I'll never get sick of hearing of His goodness! I love reading that people feel that same tug and calling. Sweetest voice ever. I love that He just patiently waits and longs for us. Oh, goodness.
And Oh my word, I LOVE that necklace! It is so perfect!
I hope you have a wonderful Christmas girl!

Shawni Marie, I just love you. You are so kind and such a beautiful person. I know what you mean, I never expected to meet so many wonderful ladies. I love it.
I know, it is so very easy to be distratcted. There are a thousand things pulling at us everyday, some good and healthy things, but still stretching us thin. It's hard to make time, but so worth it once I do.

  41. You have the sweetest heart.
I have been following your blog for a while.
I was immediately drawn to it when I saw the title..."I love you to the moon".
SInce I can remember, well since my son {who is now nearly 10} could speak the words 'and back again', this phrase has been our love language.
I tell Brysonn "I love you to the moon." and he tells me "and back again." And if we cant say the words, like after he is out of the car being dropped off at school, our love language changes to the sign for 'i love you'. My hope is that no matter how old my sweet tender hearted little boy gets, that we will always share this, our love language...it is so very precious to me!
I have 2 more sons, and we tell each other
"I love you up to the sky,
    and down to the ground,
    and 'round & 'round"

Words can be such sweet reminders...<3
