It's okay Valentines, I love you.


I feel bad for Valentine's day. She gets bullied.
You should hear the things Halloween and Thanksgiving say behind her back. Christmas even joins in occasionally. The audacity.
 Sure, it's commercialized and a bit overdone. But! Love is a beautiful thing. I'm not gonna fight a day dedicated to it. I love showing those that I do love, how much I love them. Handmade cards, thoughtful gifts, one on one time! PLUSALSO, it's my favorite woman in the world's birthday. My momma! 
This year I had class in the morning, but took off from work to celebrate my mom's birthday and spend the evening with Adam. The day was lovely. 

It was 70 degrees and beautifullll. Shorts weather! My favorite shorts!



Picked up the birthday girl for a coffee date!!! Oh sweet coffee. I miss it so much. I only had 3 cups on Valentines day. I thought I'd have somewhere around 20. 
It tasted extra extra good, but the company I had was my favorite. Nothing like chatting with one of your most favorite people in the whole world over your favorite drink in the whole world. nuthin' like it.






We wandered around a few stores and chatted and laughed for a few hours. <3

I mean, I love her a lot. Even when she makes me smile so big, my whole face scrunches up and distorts in ways that aren't normal. even then.
  My dad took her out for dinner after I delivered her back home. :]


 I took Joanna her valentine present at work and we chatted for a bit! I had THREE valentines. I'm a lucky girl.


  Headed home to get dolled up for a date night with Adam.


I painted his beard on a card.
 He took me to my favorite restaurant of all times AND they had a buffet.. they never have one when we go. So. I ate enough Indian food for about 17 people. 
I remember why I don't like buffets. 
People. 
They stare.
Adam had to go get some seconds and thirds for me. 
Whatta good guy, makin' 20 trips to the buffet bar for us, collectively.


 My haaandsomeeee Valentine.

 Stopped for some wine on the way home. 

 And spent a cuddly night in. Perfect.
We laughed and talked all night and he got me this pretty little thing. How perfect. 


So yeah, I think I'll keep Valentines around. 
(It's totally my choice, if she goes or stays. Nobody told you) 
She's stayin!
Just like this arrow cuff. Never takin' it off.

  5. How sweet that your mom's birthday is on Valentine's Day! I have a friend whose birthday is also on V-Day, and it definitely makes it so much fun! Jim (my hubby) and I had a nice low-key day; he brought me home a strawberry surprise cupcake and I got him his favorite Reeses peanut butter eggs! We love each other all year around, but it is nice to have a day where we really think about it!

    Also, I love your glasses! Are they Warby Parker? They fit your face so perfectly! I have a pair of Warbys and love them!

  11. Ah the arrow cuff is absolutely perfect! I love it! I don't like it that people are so cynical and bitter, a day that should just be light and happy and celebratory of love gets such a bad rap for simply being what it is? What is wrong with the world? What's wrong with setting aside a special day to celebrate love? We all get birthdays and we don't complain that we aren't given gifts every day of the year. Why not celebrate a year of love? ...end rant...

    So glad yours was sweet :)

  18. Awww I love valentines day. And I bet it was an extra nice respite during your fast. How perfect! I love the card you made Adam. It's awesome. When we eat at our favorite Chinese buffet I always make Evan get my 2nd and 3rd and 4th and 5th plate. Of crab wontons. And I lovelovelove indian food. My favorite restaurant is in Ethiopia.....so we don't get there much. Hahaha
